Teacher’s Bio
Mary-Tyler Upshaw is the Technology and Testing coordinator as well as the Director of Fine Arts. Currently she teaches technology, music and theatre, and directs our band and choir. An alumna of Shenandoah Conservatory and Salisbury University, she holds a bachelor’s degree in music and a master’s degree in instruction and curriculum design.
Having taught at SFdS for three years, she utilizes project-based learning approaches in the classroom. Setting a goal for the class and then working with each student individually to determine what they need to reach a goal. As a leader of the S.T.R.E.A.M.S. initiative, she works with other teachers on interdisciplinary and cross-collaborative projects as much as possible.

Announcements
All-Shore auditions are available to all students in our school, grades 6-8. For additional information, please email me.
All students MUST fill out this form (click on yellow arrow on the top right) and have it signed by their parents prior to THIS FRIDAY JANUARY 4th at 3pm.

Supply List
Kindergarten and 1st Grade need to have their own headphones. I recommend headphones with larger ear cups. They must be wired.
2nd grade and up may use ear buds, they too must be wired.
ALL HEADPHONES WILL STAY AT SCHOOL.
