About Us

St. Francis de Sales Catholic School

Academic Success Grounded In Faith, Service

Here at St. Francis de Sales Catholic School, we strive to create a vibrant and supportive environment where our students receive a rigorous academic experience rooted in faith and service to others.

Our teaching is firmly rooted in the Catholic faith, and we nurture and instill the development of these values in our students, parents and faculty. We believe a strong foundation in faith should be paired with a rigorous academic education to fully prepare our students to be successful in today’s society.

Our goal is to ensure that every student leaves St. Francis not only with a well-rounded education, but with a strong faith and the ability to continue learning for a lifetime.
Dr. Seuss said it best, “Think and wonder. Wonder and think.”

Serving Students From Pre-K To Eighth Grade

Serving Students From Pre-K 3 To Eighth Grade

At St. Francis, we offer a complete academic program for students, beginning with our pre-kindergarten program for three- and four-year-olds. Our primary school program covers kindergarten through second grade, and our intermediate school program includes third through fifth grade. Our middle school program covers sixth through eighth grades. Daily religion classes are part of every program, starting with our pre-kindergarten classes. We also celebrate Mass weekly with the students. Each month, we highlight a different virtue and share this with our school families in our weekly Wednesday eFolder. This helps our parents share in our spiritual lessons as well.

A Proud Part Of The Eastern Shore Community

We’re located in Salisbury, Md., and we serve students from Wicomico, Worcester, Somerset and Dorchester counties in Maryland and Sussex County in Delaware. We value our place in the Eastern Shore community and want to be a safe, inviting place for our students, staff and their families.

We welcome students from all faiths, knowing that each student’s unique background helps us broaden our knowledge and understanding of each other and create a well-rounded student body.

Remembering Our Namesake

St. Francis de Sales, 1567-1622, was a Bishop of Geneva and known for working to resolve religious divisions in France after the Protestant Reformation. His writings on spiritual direction and spiritual formation remain well-known, especially his “Introduction to the Devout Life” and the “Treatise on the Love of God.”

St. Francis is the patron of Catholic writers, the Catholic press, the deaf, journalists and adult education. He was beatified on Jan. 8, 1661, and canonized on April 19, 1665, both by Pope Alexander VII. His feast day is Jan. 24.
