We’re Looking For New Penguins
Ready to Enroll? Here’s How to Get Started at SFdS
We’re excited that you’re considering Saint Francis de Sales Catholic School for your child’s education. Our enrollment process is designed to be welcoming, informative, and personal, giving both families and our school the opportunity to ensure that this is the right fit for everyone.
Step 1: Schedule a Private Tour
To begin the process, please call the school office at 410-749-9907 to schedule a private tour with our Advancement Director, Mrs. Sarah Passarell. You can also schedule a private tour, and Mrs. Passarell will reach out to you directly to schedule your visit.
We strongly encourage scheduling your tour during the school day. This allows you to see our classrooms in action, observe students engaged in learning, and experience the structure, energy, and culture of a typical day at SFdS.
Our one-on-one tours are intentionally personal and relaxed. While other private schools may conduct formal interviews, our approach is more conversational. These visits give us a chance to get to know your family and allow you to experience our school in a genuine way. It’s important that we both feel confident that SFdS is the right fit for your child.
Step 2: Receive the Enrollment Packet
Following the tour, if both your family and the school would like to move forward, you will be given an enrollment packet. This packet includes:
-
The enrollment contract
-
Student application
-
Outline of required health forms
-
Additional required documents and resources
Step 3: Submit Enrollment Materials
To be officially considered for placement on a class list or waitlist, the following items must be submitted:
-
A signed enrollment contract
-
A completed student application
-
The non-refundable enrollment fee
Step 4: Schedule a Student Assessment
Once we receive the above materials, your child will be scheduled for an in-person assessment. This helps us ensure proper class placement and identify how we can best support your child. The enrollment fee includes the cost of the assessment and is non-refundable, regardless of whether enrollment proceeds or not. Registration is contingent on a pre-admission assessment.
Step 5: Receive an Admission Decision
After the assessment, families will receive a welcome letter that includes the grade placement being offered. If you choose to accept the offer, the next step is to submit the required health and enrollment forms.
- Health Inventory Form
- Include copies of the following documents:
- Birth Certificate
- Social Security Card
- Baptismal Certificate
- Immunization Records
- Report cards for the last 2 years (for Grades 1 and above)
- Standardized test scores (for Grades 2 and above)
- Custody agreement (if applicable)
Our staff is always happy to help parents with the enrollment process. Fill out the contact form, call us, or visit the school if you have questions or need assistance.
