Teachers Bio
Mrs. Megan Duick serves as our Assistant Principal and teaches Mathematics for grades 6 through 8 at SFdS. She is the Chair of our Mathematics Department and serves as the school’s Testing Coordinator. Mrs. Duick spent 11 years teaching mathematics at the high school level, with adjunct positions at the college level. With a total of 22 years of teaching experience, she brings deep expertise and a commitment to student-centered learning.
Mrs. Duick holds a B.A. in Mathematics from Mary Baldwin College and a M.S. in Mathematics Education, with a focus in High School Mathematics, from Salisbury University. She is certified in the state of Maryland, and holds an Advanced Professional Certificate in Mathematics for grades 7–12.
Now in her eleventh year at SFdS, Mrs. Duick is dedicated to differentiated instruction that supports the individual needs of each student. In her Math and STEM classes, she combines hands-on, project-based learning with theoretical instruction to build deep understanding. Her classroom is a place where learning is active, engaging, and tailored to help every student succeed.
Beyond the classroom, Mrs. Duick leads our Model Rocket Program, offering students a unique opportunity to apply STEM skills in creative and exciting ways.
As a learning process facilitator, she focuses on measuring each student’s personal growth—whether it’s in mathematical reasoning, perseverance through challenges, or taking greater responsibility for learning.
Mrs. Duick’s work reflects her belief that meaningful progress is about more than grades; it’s about fostering confident, capable thinkers prepared for the future.
